ART ☀ DESIGN ☀ STORYTELLING ☀ SCULPTING ☀ PRINTMAKING!! 

 

In my creative practice, I am particularly interested in storytelling, crafting, processes (the action of making and producing an outcome), and procedures (the 'how' or the steps taken to accomplish a task or activity). For me, finding connections between random or seemingly unrelated concepts can be the building blocks of reimagining ideas and methods.

In my work, I examine the theme of 'everyday' because it involves my interactions with the world and my intuitive approach. Using the characters I draw and design, I explore what is interesting and exciting in a day-to-day experience that might otherwise be boring and mundane. 

Teaching creative practice (sculpting, printmaking, zine making, experimental typography etc.) is something I enjoy, and I use innovative and creative learning and teaching materials to support learning.

My role as a lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire includes teaching creative arts and visual communication. My teaching approach is student-centred and I work with students of all skill levels regardless of their particular discipline, encouraging them to push boundaries and develop their own creative practices. My teaching experience has provided me with transferable skills in problem-solving, creating, and delivering practical and theoretical content. I have also created and facilitatedshort CPD courses in learning and teaching for both teachers and head teachers. This also included gaining CPD accreditation, writing, maintaining, and monitoring modules, and communicating with stakeholders.

As an art and design creative, I have worked on corporate design projects, educational resources, user interface and user experience design, marketing materials, presentations, web layouts, and more.
